Since Joining Get in Shape I have lost 22.6lbs, dropped 2 dress sizes and I feel great! The support that you receive at Get in Shape is wonderful. The small group size of 1-4 allow you to get to know the trainers and the other women. The easy to follow nutrition plan has taught me how to eat healthy and be satisfied. Since July, I went from 155 lbs to 109 lbs. I feel super great more confident than ever!! I went from a size 12 to a size 2 in jeans! I used to hate trying things on at stores because things would never fit me right but now I “love” trying things on and looking in the mirror.

When I was younger I was always the shy one in comparison to my sisters. I caught myself being the stereotypical nerd- braces, huge glasses and overweight. Being insecure of my body played a big role on my action around others. Too shy to interact with people I didn’t know or just giving a report in front of my class at school. Although, I was & am a dancer, I never minded being on stage but most definitely feel so much more confident in every move and hold my head up looking right out into the crowd instead of my head down doing moves!!

I was never an athlete; I hardly made exercised part of my life. I was an all-star cheerleader, we only practiced 1x per week, it wasn’t enough to feel change. I never even thought of going to a gym before I joined Get in Shape for Women. I felt intimidated, embarrassed & I had no idea how to use any of the equipment in a regular gym.

One day I had overheard a discussion between my mom & dad about how she needs to about get back on track health wise. I looked in a mirror, I knew getting healthy and losing weight was definitely something that I wanted to do too. We went around town I noticed Get In Shape For Women, I had never heard of it. Went online to check it out, saw that others have had great results from it! We went to check it out. After the first week I felt like I belonged!!!!

As time progressed, I could feel that I was building self-confidence & def smiling a lot more! Every time I walk in they always know how to put a smile on my face, even on the worst days!! GISFW program is amazing & has changed my life!! Trainers give me the best support and attention I need!! They ensure me of all that I am & all that I’ve achieved!! I love Strength & Cardio Interval Training; it has been very effective for me!! Also being one of the youngest members gives me the opportunity to look up to older women & see how they are striving to achieve similar goals as I am! I never Would have imagined I would see myself walking into a gym smiling, laughing & having as much fun as I do at Get in Shape for Women!!!

I was a 47 year old mother of three who didn’t realize that I had become extremely overweight. I still felt I was that thin 24 year old but reality hit me hard. My clothes were painfully tight, my feet were killing me and my back was beginning to bother me as well. After I went to see my son at camp I was looking at my pictures and I couldn’t believe how bad I looked. I was so ashamed that I had let myself get into this condition. I went to see the podiatrist about my feet and the first thing he told me that if I lost about 40 pounds my feet would feel much better. Forty pounds….how did I let that happen. So I decided it was time to do something.

I started to inquire at the local gyms to see what they had to offer. After meeting with the staff at Get In Shape I knew this was what I needed. Accountability, small group instruction, nutrition counseling and weigh-ins. Before I started though I needed to shop for workout clothes –I was floored at the size I had to buy….an extra large. I was at the time wearing a size 16 dress – what did I expect. It took me six months to lose the weight. It came off slow and steady but with the encouragement from the staff and my fellow workout partners I kept at it. At the end of the six months I was a size 8 and down 40 pounds. How awesome is that!!

Well now it’s been a little over a year and I’ve lost a few more pounds but I’ve gone down to a size 4. My body fat has dropped from morbidly obese to the acceptable range! My doctor was thrilled with the weight loss and the drop in my cholesterol. I’m thrilled with my new body. I recently accepted a position at the same Get In Shape where I lost all of my weight to help other women do the same. I love helping others with weight training, nutrition counseling and giving them the encouragement they need to accomplish their goals.

I have been coming to Get In Shape since Jan 29, 2010

My main reason for joining was to regain strength and flexibility that I felt I had been losing over the past two years, but in the process I have surprisingly lost weight. I find I sleep better and crave healthier meals and I'm less apt to skip meals like I used to. I have not been sick with any sort of cold or virus since joining, and since I work in healthcare, that is very unusual.

The staff make all the difference. I have joined other gyms, but without the coaching I would quit right away or get hurt. As a healthcare professional, I highly recommend Get In Shape for your body, mind and spirit.

It is now like a hobby for me.

At 46 years old I was morbidly obese, suffering from numerous health problems related to my weight, and miserable. Weight has been something I’ve struggled with all my life. I’ve tried many programs along with working out on my own, only to have little success or gain back what I’ve managed to lose. I realized I couldn’t fight this battle alone anymore. I needed help. That’s when my sister introduced me to GISFW. She had such a positive experience herself and knew this would be something I would like and I did. Why is it big sisters are always right? Luckily for me I didn’t mind this time.

Before joining Get In Shape For Women, I had been a member of serveral gyms. Unfortunately, I never reached my fitness goals because I never truly felt comfortable there, and I quickly invented reasons not to work out. That isn't the case with Get In Shape For Women. The scheduled work out times keep me on track and the staff have made me feel a confidence with the different exercises that I have never felt before. In 2000 I was the heaviest I had ever been in 2000, at 248lbs. Feeling discouraged and scared I knew that at age 35 I had to make some permanent changes or I wouldn't enjoy another 35yrs. Emotional eating coupled with inconsistent exercise kept me on the gain-lose roller coaster. This time I knew the changes I needed to make needed to be for a lifetime. Although I have taken some steps backwards at times I will never allow myself to stay there.

In January 2010 I walked into Get In Shape. Of all the weight-loss centers and exercise clubs I have joined I knew that I had finally found a unique place where both diet and exercise were together as one package. The other places told me what I wanted to hear. With passion and concern for me my trainer told me the truth. No quick fixes, just self-discipline and hard work.

This journey has given me a passion to come along side others who struggle like I do. So, last month I enrolled in NPTI - National Personal Training Institute for a one year training program so I can be equipped to offer not only emotional support but certified personal fitness as well. Being fit is not an event it is a process!

Get In Shape for Women has done wonders for me! The staff took into consideration when my Rheumatoid Arthritis started to act up and provided me with alternative exercises so that it would not put any excess pressure on my effected joints.The training also assisted in controlling my Type 1 diabetes. Having a trainer that knows you and what you are capable of is GREAT! Staff and clients alike are like family.

Having the small groups with only up to 4 women at a time gives you the opportunity to ask questions and get the attention to make sure that you are doing the exercises correctly. It also helps with no waiting for the machines as with larger gyms. Getting weighed and measured very 2 weeks give you the incentive to keep going. I lost 15 lbs, 15 inches and 12% body fat. My health coach friend thought that the body fat loss was amazing. I strongly recommend Get In Shape for Women if your serious about getting in shape and having fun while you are doing it!

I am a full time Mom to three lovely daughters and I wanted to lose weight and get my body back in shape.

As a Christmas gift from my loving husband Kevin, I signed up for a membership and lost almost 20 pounds in the first month alone! I love Get In Shape For Women! My trainer is a real sweatheart. She pushes you very hard, harder than you would push yourself. I feel so much stronger. My arms and legs have never felt so good.

So far I lhave lost over 65 pounds and gone from a size 22 to a size 8…WOW! I am now doing things I never thought possible like running on the treadmill. One of my goals is to hula-hoop for at least 10 minutes without dropping it!

At Get In Shape they hold you accountable for your workouts. Most nights, “something” would come up at work and I would consider not going to the gym. Because I have my appointment, I know that my trainer is expecting me. I know that if I let my trainer down I am really letting myself down.

After years of bad eating habits and not exercising, my energy level and stamina were at an all time low. I joined Get in Shape in December. I saw an ad that said there were small groups, a personal trainer, nutrition guidance and a free week. My past 2 attempts to get in shape ended within a week due to either over-crowding or lack of guidance. I was at the highest weight of my life and breathing heavy walking the dog and I didn’t have a lot of spare time. Get in Shape exceeded my expectations.

Three 1-hour sessions a week are totally productive. An interactive nutrition program helps in making balanced dietary choices. The staff and the other members are very supportive. Bonus: I lost 20 pounds, 3 sizes and I can keep up with the dog on our daily walk without panting.

My story is like most busy moms. Typical days are spent keeping my family and household running. I am 44, have a wonderful husband, two daughters and three dogs (could never keep the fish alive!). Like most wives and mothers, I put my needs last and my family's first. My days can easily become excessively filled with the required and often daunting minutia of life: getting kids to and from school/sports/friends, keeping up with the never ending pile oflaundry, having a quick and well-received response to"what's for dinner?", ... and so it goes ....all the while, taking less care of myself just because I didn't make the time. Grazing throughout the day in lieu of proper meals became the norm and the pounds began to slowly increase. Always a "thin" person, I didn't feel good physically or emotionally. I made the decision to join GISFW when I noticed it opening in my town. Unlike a typical gym, GISFW is focused on working and supporting you every step of the way with a personal trainer and meal plan suggestions to help you to realize your weight loss and fitness goals. Working out in a small group of four women makes it more fun! I never thought I'd laugh so hard while strength and cardio training, that's for sure! Our trainer, supports, motivates and at times challenges us (despite my occasional whining!...! can hear him say "push through it, Kelly, you can do it" practically in my sleep!) and we, in turn, encourage each other.

The owner is always there with a smile and an encouraging word (especially on weighin days!). I really look forward to going and I have never felt that way about a gym before. After just 8 weeks, I lost about 8 lbs and dropped a dress size! I have better muscle tone, more energy and sleep soundly at night.
