Franchise Development Experience:
Brian R. Cook started personal training at Boston Health & Swim Club in 1992 at the age of 20 years old. In 1995 at the age of 23 Brian decided to open one of the very first personal training studios in Massachusetts, called In-Shape Fitness. By 1997 Brian owned and operated 3 personal training studios.
In 2001 Brian purchase a Master Franchise License to develop personal training studios in the state of Massachusetts for a company called Fitness Together. Brian was the number one Master Franchise developer nationwide 5 years running and had a total of 60 franchises sold. Brian has owned and operated as many as 5 studios at one time.
Brian decided it was time to take on a new challenge, to develop the best fitness concept in the industry. He would take his 15 years of personal fitness training experience coupled with his successful personal training studio operation/franchise development and open his own unique franchise system.
In January of 2006, Brian sold his Fitness Together Master franchise development rights and 2 of his personal training studios for $1,200,000. These are the funds he is using to develop this new franchise concept.
Brian has a B.S. in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. and is pursuing his M.B.A at Babson College in Wellesley, MA. Brian is married with 3 children.

- Select a Franchise Territory: I will help you choose the best territory in your area based on demographic research, and a proven formula I have developed from opening more than 50 personal training studios.
- Site Selection: Location, Location, Location. You have heard this many times. I will help you choose the best location. We will look at the lease term, cost per square foot, cost for build out, parking, and tenant improvement money from the landlord.
- Lease Negotiation: I will negotiate hard to get you the best possible deal. I have negotiated some incredible deals. I was able to get 7 free months rent and $12/ft. for one of the former franchisees I worked with. On another I got the landlord to pay for the entire build out. Landlords understand the success of franchising. They would much rather deal with a franchise than with a "mom and pop" type business.
- Studio Design: I will help you come up with the most space efficient layout for your studio. We will use CAD architectural software to be precise.
- Studio Build out: I will help you get the nicest, high end build out for the lowest possible price. I am a MA licensed contractor, starting building decks when I was 15, and have remodeled all of my houses. I started a small construction company to be able to run all of my build outs in Massachusetts. Outside of MA, I will help you hire the right contractor to build out your store. I know all the "pitfalls" and will make sure you don't fall in one.
- Pre- Opening Marketing: We have pre-opening methods that will get your phone to ring of the hook during your grand opening.
- Grand Opening Support: I will spend a week with you during your grand opening to help you master the Get In Shape For Women system.
- Employee Training: I will teach you how to motivate and develop "key employees" using incentives. I have had more than 40 personal trainers work for me in the last 14 years. I know what key components to look for in a potential applicant.
- On going support: My staff and I will be available to you for assistance, coaching, and will periodically visit your store.
- Web based software application: I spent 7 months with a team of IT professionals developing the most sophisticated, comprehensive, web based fitness application in the industry. This application will allow you to effectively and efficiently run your Business real time from any internet connection.
- Growth: Once you have mastered the development of one store, I will teach you how to leverage skill, and be able to operate multiple units. I know how to operate multiple stores. I have owned as many as 5 personal training studios at one time.
- Economies of Scale: You will pay a discounted rate on everything from equipment, marketing, uniforms, to business supplies. I do not "mark up" these expenses for my own profit.
